It's currently at around 34000 miles and the dealer says it is still covered under the power train warranty but they can't guarantee that this Check Engine light issue would be covered under that. The car doesn't seem to run any different. I really would like to avoid spending big bucks on this car especially considering that it's not that old. He cleared the code and as we were leaving their house for the evening the light came back on. It came back something regarding a thermostat sensor.he checked the sensor and it didn't look dirty or anything. He happens to be a mechanic and has an onboard diagnostics tool that can check for what code it was throwing. We took the car to her dad's house last night to look at. I thought perhaps it was just gas cap related as I would go re-tighten the gas cap and the light would go out.BUT it would come back on shortly thereafter. She has a 2013 Chevy Sonic LT and recently the Check Engine light came on and stayed on.
